Low Flash Flood Guidance
30 Sep 2019 05:34 AMAreas along the south central border of Iowa and Missouri received a significant amount of rainfall over the weekend leading to some flooding. The featured map displays the one hour precipitation guidance threshold before additional non-urban flash flooding is expected. Values are very low in the area, but thankfully additional rainfall is expected to hold off for a few days there. Additional heavy rain will work west to east over the state this week with subsequent chances of flooding.

Flash Flood Guidance
18 Apr 2017 05:33 AMThe River Forecast Centers of the NWS issue Flash Flood Guidance for estimated rainfall totals over a given amount of time needed to begin flash flooding. These totals are not appropriate for steeped nor urban areas. The featured map presents the county/forecast zone estimates from last evening. Most of Iowa is in the 1.5 to 2 inch range. Our recent wet weather and upcoming storms have some concern for more flash flooding to occur.
