The flow of METAR data (airport weather observations) from the FAA to the NWS suffered an outage today. Typically, the missed data is transmitted once the communication lines are re-established. Unfortunately, that did not happen today and there is a data hole that I likely have no means to manually repair. There's about 13,000 missing observations between approximately 2 and 6 PM CDT today.
