The ratio this year is well over four meaning that four times as much precipitation fell this April and May versus this July and August, which is by far the largest ratio shown since 1893. The long term average is close to one meaning these paired two months receive about the same total, but the year to year variability is high. The good news is that the heat looks to break in time for the start of September, but significant rainfall is not expected.
