...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1215 AM CDT FOR
STONE COUNTY...

At 835 PM CDT, Stone County Emergency Management reported that high
water rescues had come to an end. However, numerous roads remain
closed with significant flash flooding still ongoing throughout the
county.

At 840 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated that the the heaviest showers
and thunderstorms were exiting to the east of Stone county, with
only a few left over light rain showers. Widespread 9 to 13 inches
of rain has fallen, so excessive runoff from heavy rains will
continue to result in flash flooding this evening. Never attempt to
cross a flooded roadway.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Wiggins, Perkinston and McHenry.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
