13 Nov 2024 Update: The tool was updated to use non-hash link style URLs. A shim is in place to translate the old URLs to the new ones, so nothing should be broken (famous last words). This was done to allow the HTML5 History API to provide a better user experience.

  Northwestern Jefferson Parish in southeastern Louisiana...

* Until 1145 AM CDT.

* At 842 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is expected to
  begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  New Orleans, Metairie, Marrero, Harvey, Avondale, Timberlane,
  Jefferson, Gretna, Harahan, Westwego, Woodmere, Elmwood, Terrytown,
  Bridge City, River Ridge, Estelle, Waggaman, Ama and New Orleans
  Armstrong Airport.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1145 AM CDT FOR
NORTHWESTERN JEFFERSON PARISH...

At 902 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the warned 
area. 4 to 5 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is already 
occurring with many streets severely flooded. 

THIS IS A FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY FOR JEFFERSON PARISH. This is a 
PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW!

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
New Orleans, Metairie, Marrero, Harvey, Avondale, Timberlane,
Jefferson, Gretna, Harahan, Westwego, Woodmere, Elmwood, Terrytown,
Bridge City, River Ridge, Estelle, Waggaman, Ama and New Orleans
Armstrong Airport.

Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible in the 
warned area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to higher ground now. This is an extremely dangerous and
life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are
fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.
