The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  North central Jefferson County in southeastern Texas...
  Central Orange County in southeastern Texas...

* Until 230 AM CDT.

* At 1233 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. 5 TO 10 inches of rain have 
  fallen. Flash flooding is occurring with reports of evacuations 
  and water rescues within the area.

  THIS IS A FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY FOR PORTIONS OF BEAUMONT AND 
VIDOR. This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER 
GROUND NOW!

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Beaumont, Port Arthur, Vidor, Rose City and Fannett. 

Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 5 inches will be possible over 
the next few hours in the warned area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to higher ground now. This is an extremely dangerous and
life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are

At 155 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated 
thunderstorms continue to produce heavy rain over the warned area. 
Jefferson County Drainage District 6 gages indicate 6 to 12 inches 
of rain have fallen over the past 6 hours. Flash flooding is 
occurring with several roads impassable. Rainfall is expected to 
continue for the next several hours.

THIS IS A FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY FOR AREAS OF BEAUMONT AND VIDOR.
