13 Nov 2024 Update: The tool was updated to use non-hash link style URLs. A shim is in place to translate the old URLs to the new ones, so nothing should be broken (famous last words). This was done to allow the HTML5 History API to provide a better user experience.

The National Weather Service in Columbia has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northeastern Chesterfield County in central South Carolina...

* Until 130 AM EDT Monday.

* At 727 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the 
  warned area. Nearly 20 inches of rain has likely fallen over 
  eastern Chesterfield County near Cheraw. Extremely Dangerous Flash 
  flooding is already occurring.

  This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for Northeastern Chesterfield 
  County.

This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW!

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Cheraw, Chesterfield and Patrick. 

Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible in the 
warned area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

GET TO THE HIGHEST FLOOR OF THE NEAREST BUILDING! This is an
extremely dangerous and life-threatening situation.  Do not attempt
to travel unless you are under an evacuation order.

Most flooding deaths occur in vehicles. Never drive through a flooded
roadway or around barricades. Turn around, don't drown.

Flooded roadways are nearly impossible to see at night. Avoid
traveling in the warned area. Turn around, don't drown.
