13 Nov 2024 Update: The tool was updated to use non-hash link style URLs. A shim is in place to translate the old URLs to the new ones, so nothing should be broken (famous last words). This was done to allow the HTML5 History API to provide a better user experience.

Hidalgo County in Deep South Texas... * Until 1100 AM CDT. * At 907 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. 4 to 8 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is already occuring. Emergency management officials have reported multiple water rescues in the warning area and additional water rescues are likely to continue. This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for south-central Hidalgo County. This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW! * Some locations that will experience flooding include... Edinburg, Mission, Pharr, San Juan, Alamo, Donna, Hidalgo, Palmview, Penitas and Palmhurst. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Move to higher ground now. This is an extremely dangerous and life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots. Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you can do so safely. A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
