13 Nov 2024 Update: The tool was updated to use non-hash link style URLs. A shim is in place to translate the old URLs to the new ones, so nothing should be broken (famous last words). This was done to allow the HTML5 History API to provide a better user experience.

...FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY FOR the city of Cassville and areas along 
Flat Creek...

The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Central Barry County in southwestern Missouri...

* Until 630 PM CDT

* At 1231 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the
  warned area. Up to five inches of rain has fallen.
  Flash flooding is already occurring with additional heavy rain 
  expected through much of the afternoon.

This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for the city of Cassville and areas 
along Flat Creek. This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK 
HIGHER GROUND NOW! 

This warning includes but is not limited to the following low water
crossings...
Route Y at Flat Creek just northeast of Cassville...
Route C just south of Mcdowell...
Highway 39 at Flat Creek south of Jenkins...
Highway 39 at Flat Creek near Jenkins...
and Route U, 8 miles east of Purdy.

Flood waters are moving down Flat Creek from the headwaters to 
Cassville. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to higher ground now. This is an extremely dangerous and
life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are
fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.
