13 Nov 2024 Update: The tool was updated to use non-hash link style URLs. A shim is in place to translate the old URLs to the new ones, so nothing should be broken (famous last words). This was done to allow the HTML5 History API to provide a better user experience.

The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Eastern Newton County in southwestern Missouri...

* Until 330 PM CDT

* At 934 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the 
  warned area. Up to 8 inches of rain has fallen. Unusual and 
  dangerous flash flooding is already occurring.

This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for eastern Newton County including 
the cities of Granby, Ritchey, and Newtonia.  Life threatening flash 
flooding is ongoing across portions of Newton County. This is a 
PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW! 

* Creeks, streams, and low water crossings will be especially
  susceptible to the dangers of flash flooding.
  Locations in the warning include...
  Neosho...                         Granby...
  Newtonia...                       Stark City...
  Ritchey...                        

This warning includes but is not limited to the following low water
crossings...
Route W at Shoal Creek near Ritchey.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to higher ground now. This is an extremely dangerous and
life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are
fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.
