13 Nov 2024 Update: The tool was updated to use non-hash link style URLs. A shim is in place to translate the old URLs to the new ones, so nothing should be broken (famous last words). This was done to allow the HTML5 History API to provide a better user experience.

The National Weather Service in League City has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Chambers County in southeastern Texas...
  Southern Liberty County in southeastern Texas...
  East central Harris County in southeastern Texas...

* Until 700 AM CDT.

* At 105 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated 
  thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. 5 
  inches of rain have fallen in the past hour and 20 inches in the 
  last 2 days. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

  This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for areas from Winnie to Mont 
Belvieu to Liberty . This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. 
STAY WHERE YOU ARE UNLESS TOLD TO EVACUATE! TRAVEL WILL BE SEVERELY 
IMPACTED.  

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Eastern Baytown, Liberty, Dayton, Beach City, Mont Belvieu,
  Anahuac, Old River-Winfree, Ames, Cove, Devers, Stowell, Winnie,
  Hankamer and Wallisville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay where you are unless told to evacuate. This is an extremely 
dangerous and life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel 
unless you are fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an 
evacuation order.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.
