Our remarkably dry and often very warm September rolled on this past weekend with highs in the 80s again. The featured chart looks into September hourly temperature percentiles based on Ames Airport observations. These percentiles are evaluated each hour using the population of all September observations at that given hour. The lower left panel shows the hourly observation time series this year as expressed as a percentile. The side bar chart shows a decile histogram. That histogram shows no hourly reports within the 0 to 10 percentile range and the 80-90 value range having the largest number of hours. Our broken record of dry weather looks to continue this week, but slightly cooler temperatures to start off the new month on Tuesday.
