After a chilly and frost start to Wednesday, temperatures warmed very nicely for the western half of the state into the lower 50s. Thursday will be even warmer with some locations forecast to reach 60 degrees! As such, it is a good time to check in on the number of such days we have had for this year. The featured chart presents the year to date accumulated number of days with a high temperature of at least 60 degrees for Des Moines. Each year is plotted along with the years with the least and most number of days. This year is in the top 10, but will be lucky just to add one more day to the total through the remainder of December.
