The first of numerous forecast rounds of showers and thunderstorms arrived Sunday evening for Iowa. The featured map presents Weather Prediction Center forecast precipitation ending Sunday evening and paints a remarkable amount of precipitation for late October with totals approaching three inches. While this rainfall is certainly welcome and needed for soil moisture recharge before next growing season, it will put a damper on harvest progress.
