Upper 60s + Not Much Wind

Posted: 18 Oct 2023 05:30 AM

Sometimes we like to think that Iowa's weather goes directly from summer into winter and skips fall. Well, Tuesday was quite a nice fall day with sunshine, low winds, and very comfortable temperatures. The featured chart presents the frequency of having a daily high temperature in the upper 60s with a daily average wind speed below 10 mph. The chart shows the individual frequencies for those two and the combined. Of course, the fall and spring seasons are the most favored for such high temperatures and fall has a higher frequency of calmer winds. Such a combination does rapidly become less frequent into November, so you should enjoy more of such days forecast over the coming week or so!
