It was a rough morning of storms on Wednesday morning with a storm complex rolling out of South Dakota and clipping western Iowa with numerous reports of storm winds and thunderstorm wind damage. The featured map presents available NWS Local Storm Reports from the event. The blue boxes are heavy rainfall reports with central Iowa partaking in the worst of those So we take the bad with the good here as lots of needed rainfall fell over much of the state. Although, a little bit too much rain fell too quickly in the Boone area leading to some flash flooding. More chances of rain remain in the near term forecast.
