Winds were howling on Thursday with the featured map showing peak wind gust reports from airport weather stations. The greatest report shown is 60 MPH from Spencer (KSPW). These winds prompted the NWS to issue a Wind Advisory along with Red Flag (Fire Weather) Warnings over southern Iowa due to recent dry conditions causing wild fire concerns. The forecast for the weekend continues to look amazing with very warm temperatures and serious snow melting over northern Iowa.
