Temperatures recovered very nicely on Monday after a chilly start in the 20s as shown by the featured chart highlighting the past few days of weather reports from the Ames Airport weather station. These rapid rises in temperature are easier to accomplish during the spring and fall season as lower humidity levels allow temperatures to cool and warm with less energy. These are also transition months for cold and warm air masses, which is also shown in the chart with the switch to southerly winds on Monday.
