The past two weeks and first half of February have seen plenty of passing winter storm systems prompting the National Weather Service to issue a number of watches, warnings, and advisories. The featured gaant chart displays the series of such alerts issued by NWS Des Moines since the first of the month. We have seen a couple of Blizzard Warnings along with other alerts common during the winter season. With warmer weather in the forecast, the hope is that the winter alerts are done for a little while at least!
