The most recent passing winter storm produced a dusting to about 3 inches of snow over Iowa. This snowfall did create travel issues along with a brisk wind causing some blowing snow over the roadways. The forecast has warmer temperatures in store, so there is hope of melting some of this off soon. Also note, the IEM produces these maps for snowfalls where totals of 2+ inches were reported. There have been other systems that produced a dusting to maybe an inch or so that are not captured by these maps and storm accounting for the season.
