We have avoided very cold temperatures so far this season with practically all of Iowa yet to see a freezing temperature. The featured chart displays the to date minimum low temperature for Ames since 1 July. The climatology shows that we are on the warm side of average with this time of year being about average for the first freeze. The forecast this week has warmer weather returning with highs mostly in the 70s!
