The presented graph shows the range of calculated heat index for the Des Moines Airport sensor since the first of July. Drier air arrived on Sunday and with high temperatures only in the low 80s, it made for a great day to be outside! Yesterday was the first day since June were the heat index failed to reach 85. The blue dots on the chart are the hourly mean value for the day. Heat and humidity are expected to return this week, but nothing like we have recently seen.
