The past three days have seen quite the wild swings in air temperatures for Ames. On Tuesday morning, clear skies and fresh snow allowed temperatures to plummet into the negative teens only to rapidly recover 40+ degrees by noon. Since then, we have been on the downward trend with lows this morning again approaching the negative teens. Will we ever experience really warm air again? The forecast does not hold out much hope with below freezing temperatures expected into next week.
