A wintry mix of weather is impacting Iowa this morning with heavy snow affecting areas in Northern Iowa and freezing rain/sleet in Southern Iowa. IEM produced maps of road condition reports and radar show an interesting situation with more convective rain like features in Southeastern Iowa (roads are green indicating wet conditions) and more sleet like features in Central Iowa (roads are orange indicating travel not advised). Once the precipitation stops, temperatures are expected to fall with the arrival of the artic air mass to our north.
