8:30 AM IEM Freeze on 23 Mar 2005
This morning's IEM Freeze plot shows an area of light snow and rain over SE Iowa, but roadway temperatures (dots) are above freezing. Temperatures above freezing means that snow is likely to melt when it reaches the surface and not cause as much trouble. It is also late March now, so with the more direct solar incident angle any sunshine will rapidly warm up the pavement and improve driving conditions further.
