1-30 August rainfall estimate.
This August was anything but typical for Iowa. The month usually referred to as the "dog days of summer" was more like the stormy month of May. Numerous rounds of severe thunderstorms dumped heavy rain over parts of the state. Rainfall estimates over 10 inches (orange) for the month are the norm in Davis County. The SchoolNet site in Bloomfield has recorded 11.79 inches for August.
