It has been really interesting to note the daily temperature swings this summer. On a very good day, we are lucky to get a 25 degree swing in temperature. There are numerous reasons for this. The most important being that the surface and vegetation are very wet. This means that a good portion of sun's insolation goes into evaporating water instead of raising surface temperatures. It will take more surface drying and a warm SW flow for us to have a chance at 100 degrees this summer.
