The Ames SCAN site was fortunate to receive the hit-or-miss showers yesterday. Shown above are the 2 inch (green) and 4 inch (navy) soil moisture responses to the rainfall at about 6 PM (18). Notice the spike and then drying afterwards. The soil is quite thirsty.
