...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS AFFECTING THE REGIONAL WATERS...

The combination of favorable conditions aloft due to an upper

level trough and increase low-level moisture convergence with the

passage of a weak tropical wave will enhance thunderstorm

development across the regional waters.

The frequency of the thunderstorms has increased in the past few

hours as a tropical wave continues to approach the area during

the overnight and early morning hours. These thunderstorms will

drift eastward at 10-15 knots with the potential to produce

torrential rain and frequent lightning. Sudden waterspouts are

possible with this activity.

Stay tuned for any additional statements or possible watches or

warnings from your National Weather Service forecast office in San Juan.
