...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS AFFECTING THE REGIONAL WATERS...

The combination of an upper level trough and the passage of a weak

tropical wave will enhance thunderstorm development across the

regional waters. This activity will cluster along the offshore

Caribbean waters, Anegada Passage, and coastal waters of eastern

Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. So far, a few strong

isolated thunderstorms have developed, but the frequency is

expected to increase once the tropical wave approaches the area

during the overnight and early morning hours. These thunderstorms

will drift eastward at 10-15 knots with the potential to produce

torrential rain and frequent lightning.

Stay tuned for any additional statements or possible watches or

warnings from your National Weather Service forecast office in San Juan.
