...WINTER STORM WARNING IS CANCELLED...



* WHAT...Dangerous wind chills expected. The dangerous wind 

  chills will cause frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to 

  exposed skin. Expect wind chills to range from 0 to 25 below 

  zero. The coldest wind chill values can be expected Friday 

  night.



* WHERE...Portions of northeast New Jersey, southern Connecticut 

  and southeast New York.



* WHEN...Until 10 AM EST Saturday.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...An additional inch of snow accumulation is

  possible tonight. Wind gusts up to 35 to 45 mph will lead to

  blowing snow and locally reduced visibilities at times in

  addition to dangerous cold wind chill values.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



A Wind Chill Advisory means that cold air and the wind will

combine to create low wind chills. Frost bite and hypothermia can

occur if precautions are not taken. Make sure you wear a hat and

gloves.

...WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM FRIDAY TO

10 AM EST SATURDAY...



* WHAT...Blizzard conditions occurring. Travel will be very

  dangerous to impossible. Damage to trees and power lines has

  been reported. Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches

  are expected. By tonight, dangerous wind chills can be 

  expected. Expect wind chills to range from 0 to 20 below zero, 

  with the coldest values on Friday night.



* WHERE...Portions of southern Connecticut and southeast New 

  York.



* WHEN...For the Blizzard Warning, until 1 AM EST Friday. For 

  the Wind Chill Advisory, from 1 AM Friday to 10 AM EST 

  Saturday.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds gusting as high as 55 mph will cause

  whiteout conditions in blowing snow. Significant drifting of the

  snow is likely. The dangerous wind chills will cause frostbite 

  in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



A Blizzard Warning means severe winter weather conditions are

expected or occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds

and poor visibilities are likely. This will lead to whiteout

conditions, making travel extremely dangerous. Do not travel. If

you must travel, have a winter survival kit with you.  If you get

stranded, stay with your vehicle. The latest road conditions for

the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
