NORTH CENTRAL FAIRFIELD...NORTH CENTRAL WESTCHESTER AND EASTERN

PUTNAM COUNTIES...



At 811 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated another band of heavy showers 

and thunderstorms along the Hudson River appraoching the warned 

area.



As much as 3 to 4 inches of rain have been detected across Eastern 

Putnam and extreme Northern Fairfield Counties since 5 pm, with an 

additional inch possible through 10 pm.



Flash flooding may be ongoing. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall 

will continue flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, 

highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas 

and low lying spots.



Some locations that will experience flooding include...

Danbury, Lake Carmel, Sherman, Brewster, Ridgefield, Brookfield, New

Fairfield, Carmel, Patterson, Putnam Lake, Brewster Hill, Peach Lake,

Chimney Point and Holmes.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

deaths occur in vehicles.



Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you

can do so safely.
