The Flash Flood Watch for portions of northeast New Jersey and

southeast New York has been cancelled. Although a few isolated

showers will be possible for the remainder of the morning, the

heaviest rainfall has moved east of the area. Therefore, the flood

watch has been cancelled.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM EDT THIS

AFTERNOON...



The Flash Flood Watch continues for



* Portions of southern Connecticut and southeast New York, 

  including the following areas, in southern Connecticut, 

  Northern Fairfield, Northern Middlesex, Northern New Haven, 

  Northern New London, Southern Fairfield, Southern Middlesex, 

  Southern New Haven, and Southern New London. In southeast New 

  York, Northeastern Suffolk, Northern Nassau, Northwestern 

  Suffolk, Southeastern Suffolk, Southern Nassau, and 

  Southwestern Suffolk. 



* Until 5 PM EDT this afternoon



* Showers and thunderstorms will be widespread across Western Long

  Island and Southwestern Connecticut and move eastward through 

  this afternoon. Areas of urban and poor drainage flooding are 

  likely, with localized flash flooding possible. 



* Flash flooding can be expected in locations that experience 

  successive thunderstorms moving through. Locations across 

  Southern Connecticut that have already received substantial 

  rain in the last couple of days will be particularly 

  vulnerable.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead

to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action

should flash flood warnings be issued.
