...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE TONIGHT...



The Flash Flood Watch continues for



* Southern Connecticut, Northeast New Jersey, the Lower Hudson

  Valley, New York City and Long Island.



* Through late tonight



* An intensifying low pressure system along the Mid Atlantic Coast

  will track north across the Lower Hudson Valley this evening.

  This system will produce heavy rain with embedded thunderstorms.

  Widespread rainfall amounts of 3 to 4 inches are expected, with

  localized higher amounts. Additional urban and small stream

  flooding is possible. Maximum hourly rainfall rates of at least

  1 inch is possible during this time.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead

to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action

should flash flood warnings be issued.
