TONIGHT...



The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a



* Flash Flood Watch for portions of northeast New Jersey and 

  southeast New York, including the following areas, in 

  northeast New Jersey, Eastern Bergen, Eastern Essex, Eastern 

  Passaic, Eastern Union, Hudson, Western Essex, and Western 

  Union. In southeast New York, Bronx, Kings (Brooklyn), New 

  York (Manhattan), Northeastern Suffolk, Northern Nassau, 

  Northern Queens, Northwestern Suffolk, Richmond (Staten 

  Island), Southeastern Suffolk, Southern Nassau, Southern 

  Queens, and Southwestern Suffolk. 



* From noon EDT today through late tonight



* Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop in response to

  a strong low pressure system that will pass over the area.

  Multiple rounds of heavy rainfall will be possible this

  afternoon into tonight.



* Rainfall totals of 1 to 2 inches with locally higher amounts are

  expected across the watch area, especially in any thunderstorms.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead

to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
