...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1130 AM CDT FOR
GREENE...RANDOLPH...CRAIGHEAD...NORTHWESTERN POINSETT...EASTERN
LAWRENCE AND CLAY COUNTIES...

At 618 AM CDT National Weather Service Doppler Radar detected rain
and thunderstorms over all of the warning area. Up to 2 inches of
rain has fallen since 5 AM in eastern Craighead County,
with rainfall totals over 4 inches in the warning area.

Many roads have been flooded in and around Jonesboro. Some homes
have been threatened in southeast Jonesboro with people being
evacuated.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Jonesboro, Paragould, Pocahontas, Walnut Ridge, Corning, Bono, Lake
City, Bay, Brookland, Marmaduke, Crowleys Ridge State Park, Lake
Frierson State Park, Oak Grove Heights, Lafe, Reyno, Maynard,
Biggers, Cash, Knobel and O'kean.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel in northeast Arkansas this morning, be extremely
cautious. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.
