...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1245 AM EST FOR
SOUTHWESTERN CLARK...FLOYD...SOUTHWESTERN OLDHAM...JEFFERSON...NORTH
CENTRAL HARDIN AND BULLITT COUNTIES...

At 1033 PM EST, Doppler radar indicated a line of thunderstorms with
torrential rainfall moving into the Louisville metro area.  Intense
rainfall is expected for the next hour or so.  Numerous water
rescues are ongoing across the city of Louisville.  This intense
rainfall will lead to a extremely dangerous flash flood situation.

This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for the metro Louisville area. This
is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW!

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Louisville, Jeffersonville, New Albany, Jeffersontown, St. Matthews,
Shively, Shepherdsville, Lyndon, Middletown and Douglass Hills.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to higher ground now. This is an extremely dangerous and
life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are
fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
