MARION...FORREST...SOUTHEASTERN COVINGTON...LAMAR...SOUTHWESTERN
JONES AND SOUTHEASTERN JEFFERSON DAVIS COUNTIES...

At 816 PM CST, local law enforcement reported ongoing flash flooding
across the warned area with numerous roads closed, reports of
businesses and homes taking on water in Hattiesburg and Columbia,
and ongoing water rescues in portions of southern Marion County.
Estimated rainfall amounts so far across the warned area range from
4 to 8 inches.

This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for the Columbia to Hattiesburg area
and remains a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND
NOW!

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Hattiesburg, Petal, Columbia, Kokomo, West Hattiesburg, Sandy Hook,
Purvis, Sumrall, Morgantown, Goss, Bunker Hill, Sanford, Improve,
Melba, Rawls Springs, Eastabuchie, Pickwick, Mclaurin, Pinebur and
Sunrise.

Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible in the
warned area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to higher ground now. This is an extremely dangerous and
life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are
fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.
