BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED
Flash Flood Warning
National Weather Service San Joaquin Valley CA
737 PM PST WED MAR 6 2019

The National Weather Service in Hanford CA has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northeastern Kern County in central California...

* Until 945 PM PST.

* If you live or work in the Kelso Creek communities, please pay
  close attention to this message.

Due to recent weather, the flood control embankment along Kelso
Creek may be impacted. As of this time, the levee along Kelso Creek
remains intact, according to Kern County Fire Department.

Local roads may flood, preventing residents in the Kelso Creek
communities from leaving the area to seek alternative shelter.

Residents in the Kelso Creek communities of Powers Tract, Weldon
Valley Ranchos and Valley Estates are recommended to evacuate as
quickly as possible.

A recommended evacuation means that flooding is an imminent threat
and all persons in the affected area are strongly advised to leave
and seek shelter away from the area. A recommended evacuation will
likely be the last warning given.

An evacuation center will be opened at the South Fork Middle School,
5225 Kelso Valley Road in Weldon. As a safety precaution, do not
drive or walk across moving water, mud, or other debris flow.

Additionally, if you have physical limitations and require
evacuation transportation assistance, please call the Aging and
Adult Services hotline at 1-855-264-6565.

Please make sure your neighbors are alerted. This message will be
updated as the situation requires.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
