...THIS IS A FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY FOR DICKINSON COUNTY...

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 845 PM CDT FOR
NORTHEASTERN OSCEOLA...NORTHERN DICKINSON...SOUTHWESTERN JACKSON AND
SOUTHEASTERN NOBLES COUNTIES...

At 614 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the warned
area.  Flash flooding is already occurring. An estimated total of 3
to 6 inches of rain will fall.

This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for very heavy rain. This is a
PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW!

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Spirit Lake, Lake Park, Okoboji, Orleans, Ocheyedan, Round Lake,
Wahpeton, Harris and Superior.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to higher ground now. This is an extremely dangerous and
life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are
fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.
