...A FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 315 PM EDT FOR
PORTIONS OF CHARLESTON...COLLETON...BERKELEY AND DORCHESTER
COUNTIES...

At 117 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated bands of heavy rain moving
inland associated with Hurricane Irma. Widespread flooding has been
reported in some areas. The combination of extremely high tides
combined with heavy rain has resulted in widespread, dangerous
flooding throughout Downtown Charleston. Emergency Management
officials are in the process closing portions of the Charleston
peninusla. Areas from Calhoun Street south to the Battery is
severely flooded. Travel into the Downtown Charleston area is not
advised due to dangerous flooding conditions.

This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for Downtown Charleston. This is a
PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW!

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Charleston, North Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Summerville, Goose
Creek, Hanahan, Edisto Beach and Middleton Place.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to higher ground now. This is an extremely dangerous and
life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are
fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.
