While yesterday's daily feature lamented the ongoing problem with erroneously high dew points being reported, more reliable stations are still reporting obscenely high readings and leading to miserably high heat index values. Sioux City reached a heat index reading of 122 on Monday with a temperature of 97 and dew point of 82. While not an official metric and based on a dataset that does not have dew point information covering the 1930s, this reading was the highest on record for the site. We still have two more days to go of misery in the state before slightly cooler weather arrives!
