Limited Help for Dryness
Posted: 02 Aug 2019 05:34 AM
The updated US Drought Monitor was released on Thursday and the area analyzed in "D0"
(Abnormally Dry) increased in size over Iowa. The featured map combines the next seven day
forecast precipitation from the Weather Prediction Center with the present US Drought Monitor
analysis. The "D0" area over eastern Iowa is not expected to get much help over the next seven
days, while more rainfall is expected over western Iowa. Some parts of western Iowa also got
needed rainfall after the end time of the drought monitor analysis (Tuesday morning).
