The featured chart presents hourly calculated heat index values based on Ames Airport weather station data since the first of June. The oppressive weather of late last week has been cleanly swept from the state and we are back to weather that felt like much of June. The chart nicely shows the general lack of heat during June with only one brief hour nearly reaching 90 degrees. July has mostly been a different story, but this week will be cool again with very pleasant mid July temperatures below average.
