The featured map plots average 4 inch soil temperatures from the ISUAG network valid on Monday. The abnormally cool weather has allowed soil temperatures to cool off into the lower 40s and 30s. Temperatures below 50 degrees allow farmers to apply fall nitrogen to the fields and makes the fields a bit more solid for big machinery to transverse.
