From: "Julie Ball" Date: Fri, 11 Jun 2004 21:34:25 -0500 Subject: Storm pictures These are pictures of a tornado that touched down just west of Webster City at 5:35 p.m. this evening (June 11). We were at a Softball Tournament and in the 2nd inning of the game when we noticed the funnel cloud bouncing up and down out of the cloud. it finally came down about half way to the ground and we brought it to the umpires attention. he then called the game and cleared both fields. The players and spectators were sent to the Webster City High School and soon the small tornado went back into the clouds. After about 30 minutes the umpires let everyone back to the dugouts but soon called the games for the night because we remained under a tornado watch. The tornado sirens never did sound in Webster City. It appeared that the tornado was quite a ways away. It did touch down - you can see the debris around the bottom of the tornado. It was quite interesting to watch it come up as it touched the ground. Use anything you wish. There are a few pictures here we took above the hotel in Webster City too. They have now called the tournament for the weekend. They have received too much rain. Use what ever you like for what ever purpose you wish.
