Central and eastern Iowa remained dry overnight. Temperatures for this morning had a decent spread across the state. 4 am lows were in the mid 30s across northern Iowa, and the upper 40s to low 50s in central to southern Iowa. Cloud cover played a decent role in temperature spread, as skies were more clear across northern Iowa, and more cloudy across central to southern Iowa. Wind speeds were generally from the north at around 10 to 15 mph. Heading into today, a few showers will linger across southwestern Iowa, but mostly dry conditions are expected across the rest of state. High temperatures will reach into the low to mid 60s, a solid 5 to 10 degrees or so cooler than yesterday. Clouds will be decreasing from north to south, becoming clear by the afternoon. Winds should be from the north at around 5 to 10 mph. For the rest of this week, temperatures will remain in the 60s, with areas hitting the 70s possibly into the weekend. A few isolated rain showers are possible Thursday afternoon across the state. Early next week may bring Iowa a big warm-up, as highs should make it into the 70s and quite possibly the 80s across some parts of the state. $$ Kotenberg
