Winds have been out of the southwest at 10 to 20 mph. Today will be the start of a warming trend as temperatures this afternoon will reach the low to mid 20s across the state with abundant sunshine. Warming will continue through the end of the week and the weekend. with highs in the 30s for Thursday, and into the 40s to near 50 for Friday and Saturday. The next chance for precipitation will come on Sunday and into Monday, bringing a mix of rain and snow across the state. Areas to the northwest have a greater chance for accumulating snow while other areas will see more rain. Temperatures following this system will cool, although not nearly as cold as they had been, generally in the 20s and 30s across Iowa. $$
