World Series Home Run Derby

Posted: 28 Oct 2016 05:35 AM

For this life long Chicago Cubs fan, I'd be remise not to tie a daily feature into the ongoing series. For Game 3 Friday Night in Chicago, the weather forecast looks very conducive to a high scoring game. The featured graphic presents NWS forecasted near surface wind speeds and gusts near Wrigley Field. These howling winds would be blowing out to left center field and are expected to only increase in strength during the game. Winds would even be stronger higher off the ground! Consider that a 40 mph wind speed would theoretically push a baseball nearly 60 feet in a second! #GoCubs

Update: For posterity's sake, Cleveland won 1-0 with no home runs hit!
