A month below freezing

Posted: 28 Jan 2009 06:14 AM

The featured chart is a time series of temperature from Waterloo for January 2009. The blue line is 32°F and you will notice that the red line never exceeds it! The entire month of January has been at or below freezing, which would be the first time this has happened in Iowa in January since 1979. Of course, there is still a few days left to warm above freezing, but the forecast model shown in black maintains the freezing temps into Saturday.
Updated: The temperature rose on Saturday (31rst) to well above freezing.
